Carmaggedon

Well, looks like the world is ending this week. The 405, being a major artery of our civilization will be closing between the 10 and the 100, in case you've been living under a rock lately. Personally, I'm excited to see what may precipitate. I predict zombies. Lucky for me, I've been training to deal with them.

Here's something to keep everyone busy:

RUN/bike/swim/row: 5K. As fast as possible!

5k = 3.1 miles

I don't care if you have to crawl, just move continuously for 5 kilometers. Non stop! Record your time!

Enjoy

  1. Forgive my obtuseness, but are you placing RUN in ALL CAPS because that is what you are trying to encourage us to do, or does it not matter?
    Thanks.

  2. I All-capped it simply to iterate that it shouldn't be a stroll. It should be a challenge and done with expedience. You should try to do it at an intensity level above that at which you can still carry a conversation.

    With that said, it should also be a pace in which you are in control.

    Personally, I believe that a 5k race is the MOST intense (athletic) of all of the road races. It's a 3 mile sprint and a true test of power, strength, and stamina while maintaining form. The longer distances exploit the mental fortitude and endurance factors a bit more.

    Either way, have fun and be proud of your accomplishment.

    Love,
    Rus ;)

  3. Ran: 30:19 min not sure if that's an average time, but I felt challenged and good afterwords.
