more than ready

So another natural disaster has struck and everyone acts so surprised and victimized. Natural disasters have and will continue to happen and they will always be devastating, especially and we develop our habitats more and more with structures to cram more people into closer quarters. The devastation compounds. The important part is to be ready to deal with whatever is thrown at you. Just like the workouts. You never know what the workouts are going to be but you're ready to do the work and you're ready to do well. Even more important, you're even ready to help somebody else out if need be. That's called being a valuable member of society. Keep your value high, otherwise no one will need you.

  1. WOD 1 - 19:32. I added jumping/negative pull ups into each round (5 count holding above the bar and lowering). I found this to be very challenging, but I'm determined to do a normal pull up by this summer. After the WOD, I added all the stadium stairs for some more BHIP fun!

Next time I try the negative pull ups or a flexed arm hang, I want to focus more on the amount time I can hold these and fewer reps (with rest time in between) - Maybe 15 sec hold with a 2 min rest in between. Any thoughts?? The biggest challenge for me right now are my hands. It just kills my hands to hold my body weight. I guess I'll get used to this.

  2. WOD 1: Leigh and I did it in 6:50. Harder than it looks. We followed it with a few exercises from a strength programme a la Dave (6:15am trainer). He put it together for us after we had a couple of training sessions with him last month (used our coupons!!) What I'm most proud of is that neither of us was in the mood to work out, and we still did.
